Stainless steel ball valves are valves that have a pierced ball as shut-off. The ball valves made of stainless steel are mostly used as a shut-off element. The typical trait of the ball valve is its ability to completely close within a rotation of 90°, making it quite different from outlets. Ball valves exist with full bore and reduced bore. For a full bore, the bore ball has the same inner diameter as the conduit that is connected to it. There is therefore only a low amount of flow losses. A ball valve has many advantages: It enables large Kvs values, has pigging capabilities, small dimensions and a high sealing integrity that results from the medium pressure.
